Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing." - Daniel Webster, June 1, 1837

Hoyle Gets Accolades, Again

The Sanford Herald named Richard Hoyle as its 2011 winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award. Read Article.  The Lee Dispatch hardily agrees with this recognition, and is reprinting its December 8, 2011 post.

Kenneth R. Hoyle, Esquire
If everyone were clothed with integrity, if every heart were just, frank, kindly, the other virtues would be well-nigh useless."— Moliere Tartuffe, V, i (1622-1673)

It is as if Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known by his stage name Molière, had Kenneth Hoyle in mind thousands of years ago.  And a man like Mr. Hoyle can, indeed, leave a legacy that can influence centuries.
Monday night an era will end as the Lee County Commissioners accept the retirement of County Attorney Kenneth R. Hoyle and honor him with a resolution.  Mr. Hoyle has been serving as county attorney for nearly five decades and served as the Town of Broadway's attorney for 28 years of those years.
.
In January, 1992 he became a full time employee and will retire effective December 31, 2011. He is one of the county's most respected citizens and gave credibility to the action taken upon his advice for many boards of commissioners.
Mr. Hoyle will return to work part time on February 1, 2012 as County Attorney Emeritus.
Current.  Assistant Attorney Dale Talbert, who began work for the county in August, 2009, is slated to take the position of Lee County Attorney on January 1, 2012.
Accept our gratitude Mr. Hoyle.
